How to measure
Adults
Chest: around the fullest part, under the arms, with the tape level and a finger’s slack. Waist: at the natural waist, not the trouser line. Inseam: from the crotch seam to where you want the hem to break.
Kids
Go by height first and age second — a tall six-year-old is happier in the 7–8. The internal cuff lets down a full inch, so if a child is between sizes and the event is months away, size up.
Babies
Weight is the reliable number; age ranges on baby clothing are a rough guide at best. If your baby is between two sizes, take the larger one. The inseam snaps mean a slightly roomy fit still looks right, and nobody has ever complained about a little growing room in a tuxedo.
